Idle Potato is a small browser game made by Basil. The potato does not want your data. It does not want anything, really.

What the game stores

Your progress and settings are saved in your browser's local storage, on your own device. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them, so use the save code in Settings if you want a backup.

Ads

The game is free and paid for by ads from Google. Most are optional: you choose to watch one for a reward, like doubling your Chill. Now and then a short ad may also play at a natural break, such as after you Sprout.

Google and its partners use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads, limit how often you see them and measure how they perform. They may use your visits to this and other websites to personalise ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent first; you can change your choice any time under Settings, Privacy choices.

Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and page load speed. It uses no cookies, does not track you across sites and does not build a profile of you.

What we do not do

There are no accounts, and we never sell or ask for your personal information. We do not receive your name, email or exact location.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and keep it secure. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Changes

If we change how the game uses data, we will update this page first.
